We promote our Well Being in so many aspects of caring for ourselves. Here we emphasize how we speak about a bodily condition. Do we take care to describe a temporary condition that pops up while our Well Being is always pouring down, around and through? Does our language acknowledge how easily we return to harmonious state?

Let’s speak as though we articulate one moment in time, not a steady state. We are clear we describe the present time and an optimistic future.

Let’s empower ourselves by speaking with care.

A Story to Make the Point

Dream Emerging, 24 x 30, Acrylic on Canvas, $500

Laney was diagnosed with a condition called leaky gut syndrome. She chose a holistic physician and followed the recommended protocol: five different supplements at each meal and a specific food plan to heal many food sensitivities.

Our star adhered faithfully to that plan for about one year. During that period Laney could have said, “I don’t eat that I am allergic to it.”

Asserting that “I am allergic.” Doesn’t that sound like a condition that lasts for years if not longer? Instead, L clarified, “When I was tested last August, I had a reaction to that food but now I am healing my gut and expect to be able to eat it before too long.”  Wonderfully, the test for allergic reactions after 12 months showed that all but one of the long list of foods was ok to enjoy again! L had healed her gut!

If we have something in our bodies we want to shift, let’s not talk about it like it will always be true! Instead, use our awesome personal power to bring on the condition we want to experience.

Someone might say:

  1. “That elbow always acts up when it rains.”

Reframe: “Sometimes I notice sensation in this area in weather conditions of high humidity. It is healing now so rain may not bother me anymore.”
