We want to remain vigilant on our past habit of thought. We review that we don’t want to do that “abd” thing again. Except that means we are focusing on what we do NOT want more than on wanted.
At some point after years of practice, what if we lean more heavily on assuming we are ok to trust ourselves. We have invested in a “new ME,” in gaining confidence and in reliably aligning with Forces of Good.
The Account from Antonia

Antonia had lots of experience with both addiction and recovery. In that world the counselors talk about sleighing the dragon of addiction. One is ready to fight it off, remain alert to spies from the Addiction camp that come across enemy lines to tempt a person back to drinking or drugging.
Fight off that Foe!
Antonia consulted a Wise Friend who made a new suggestion.
New Suggestion
WC: For years now you have succeeded in remaining in recovery. I see you as having lots of practice, perseverance and commitment.
Now instead of envisioning the issue as one where you have to wage a war against old habits, what if you trusting who you have become.
What if you claim the years of new habits now installed in you. What if you acknowledge you are not the woman who lived as an addict years ago.
Antonia: Oh Wow! It never occurred to myself to trust that I have healed in this area.
WC: If you had broken a leg, you would spend many months healing. As years go by, you would no longer think of yourself as a woman who had a broken leg. You’d easily see—that is old news I now am totally able bodied.
Antonia: Let me try that out: I can trust myself.. I can feel Good, know I am on my way and stay the course. No longer do I push against the past. I am ALREADY on the new course and well along it! What a concept!
I want to spend more time feeling good in my new habits. Now I can pour trust and well being into my vibration—not fear of past habits. More confidence flows to me!
Oh Gosh this line of reasoning is so different and feels much better. What if I don’t have to gird for battle? I can bask and shine in the healed me!
Does this cry for greater levels of trusting self ring true for you? Do you feel drawn to trying it? Or have you already tried it and have a story to share? Please submit! We grow together.
